Dear Making A Movie Is Hard,
I, as a part of a high school english project, have decided to to make a short film. I had it all planned out: read book, do research, read book, start writing, start filming, edit, publish. It all looks a lot simpler on paper. The one variable that I did not account for was that life would happen. Just because I am dedicated to this project doesn’t mean that any of my friends, I mean actors, would be. I have multiple film ideas, and I never expected to make anything longer than 10 or 15 minutes. But what is 10 or 15 minutes of finished product, is hours of shooting and editing. I investigated via the internet (because we all know how much teenagers love the internet) and found many good short films that were very, very, VERY short. Some were even three minutes long. I sort of knew that these existed, but they just weren't what I had in mind. But then again nothing ever works out exactly like it was in our minds, does it?
Yours truly,
Overly Ambitious And Product-less
